Software Team Lead (Application Development) [BHiveLab]


As a Software Team Lead (Application Development) you will work collaboratively with all BHiveLab teams to build and deploy complex web-based applications. Your role is to manage a team of software developers using the latest development processes and tools to build innovative solutions to our client’s business challenges. As part of your role you will mentor your team and other BHiveLab team members to help build an agile, innovative, self-motivating and delivery-based solution.


  • Work with customers, Project Managers and Business Analysts to provide solutions and accurate estimates for software creation efforts, including development, automation, testing, and reporting.
  • Responsible for mentoring less experienced team members to ensure a quality product and scalable solutions.
  • Reviews team work products for quality and adherence to standards (peer code review).
  • Generate, test, and document program code. Debug and resolve moderate to complex problems.
  • Assists in integration of, and communication between, purchased solutions.
  • Modify existing applications (or write new ones) of moderate to high complexity and scope, working with applications systems designs and specifications and utilizing standards, procedures, and techniques.
  • Operate in an environment that adheres to ITSM and Lean principles and Agile methodologies, as well as the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC).
  • Work with the DevOps Team to ensure that our CI/CD process is fully adhered to and that DevOps best practices are met at all times
  • Coordinate testing and debugging for programming changes and assist subordinates with debugging, whenever necessary. 
  • May act as system expert, answering business questions and pursuing/following up with answers when they cannot be initially provided.
  • Will be required to work with the DevOps team on operational production issues when necessary
  • Stays up to date with IT technology issues, trends and developments and communicates back to management and departments both issues and opportunities, and assists in developing and improving procedures, standards, and best practices.


  • Bachelor’s Degree from a four-year college or university preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years software development in an n Tier environment
  • Application architecture and design expertise
  • At least 2 years’ experience working with secure development environments


  • Skilled at object-oriented principles, application design, development methodologies, service-oriented architecture
  • Developing ASP.NET Web Applications in Visual Studio.NET 2012/2013 using the Microsoft.NET framework (4.0 and above), MVC Entity Framework, Microsoft SQL Server 20012/2014, XML, XSL, web services, light weight ORM’s
  • Working knowledge of client-side technologies, including HTML, CSS, JavaScript, AJAX
  • Good SQL Server skills and database design concepts, knowledge of NoSQL database concepts
  • Motivated and self-directed learner and ability to own deliverables from beginning to end with little direct supervision
  • Exceptional time management, priority setting and problem-solving skills
  • Work well in both individual and group situations
  • Possess strong interpersonal skills (written/verbal communication, peer relationships, etc.) to represent BHiveLab positively in interactions (customer support, requirements gathering, etc.) throughout the enterprise and interact and communicate effectively with customers/internal clients in support of business objectives


Success in this position also requires interpersonal skills for frequent interactions with work team, peers, managers, clients, and prospective clients.
